The Picks:
Darkwing Duck #1 – A popular animated TV show in the 1990’s, Darkwing Duck returns as Boom! Studios releases this new series. Darkwing Duck was the protector of St. Canard, keeping the forces of evil at bay. But, he hasn’t been seen over the last year, and evil is once again on the rise. When a plot surfaces that threatens everyone, only the return of the Duck Knight can stop it. Darkwing Duck is superheroes done Disney-style with all the fun and adventure you’d expect. With a cry of “Let’s get dangerous!”, kids and tweens will enjoy this new series.
Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham Volume 1 – Marvel continues to harken back to 80’s with the return of this superhero from their Star Comics line. Peter Porker was just an average pig when a bite from a spider gave him super powers. He must now balance his superhero life with his job at the Daily Beagle, or face the wrath of J. Jonah Jackel. He must face such foes as Ducktor Doom, the Bullfrog and the Breaded Boremamuu, and is helped by such heroes as Captain Americat, the Incredible Hulk-Bunny and Goose Rider. This trade is made up of the introductory issue Marvel Tails as well as the first five issues of the series. This is a great re-introduction of a classic series to a new generation. The mix of humor and action makes this a series both kids and adults will love.
