All ages comics and manga for 2/24/10
A short month doesn’t mean a shortage of kids comics. Archie raps up their mega marriage arc with an epilogue that brings the series back full circle. Garfield, a perennial favorite since the late 1970’s, has a new book full of the things kids love, outtakes and rejected strips. Del Rey has the first volume in the Ben Ten: Alien Force series, Marvel continues its Marvelous Land of Oz series, and it’s love and dinosaurs in this week’s picks.

Picks:
Walt Disney’s Valentines Classics Volume 1 – Even though Valentine’s Day has come and gone, romance is never out of season. This collection from Boom! Studios collects some classic love stories from some of the world’s most famous couples – Mickey and Minnie and Donald and Daisy. See how many ways Donald can ruin a date with Daisy all in one night! Mickey might have better luck with Minnie, but even a hopeless romantic can run into trouble. These stories are bound in hard cover, making it a treasury to last many years to come. Romantics and kids will enjoy it.
Dinosaur King Volume 1 – Like many titles available today, this series started out as a card game, which was then expanded into a TV series and manga. The story follows Max, a kid who loves dinosaurs. He finds a stone tablet that transports him back to the time of the dinosaurs. But when he arrives, he finds the evil Dr. Z has enslaved the dinosaurs and is going to use their hidden power to try and take over the world. It’s up to Max to stop Dr. Z and his gang and save all life as we know it. This is an action series that reminds me a lot of Bakegyamon, another VizKids series. The dinosaurs may make this series appealing to both boys and girls, but if you have a boy that really needs encouragement in reading, give this title a try.
