Manga Shakespeare: Much Ado About Nothing – The Manga Shakespeare series of books uses abridged text from Shakespeare’s plays and illustrates them in a medium that kids today can relate to: manga. This title, one of Shakespeare’s most popular romantic comedies, is adapted for a tween audience, aged 9-12. Despite the scheming of enbittered Don John and the incompetent Constable Dogberry, two couples still manage to fall in love. It’s set during the Risorgimento period of Italian history, a social and political movement that help create modern Italy. Overseen by a Shakespeare scholar and an educational editor, this title can be used to both educate and entertain.
The Marvelous Land of Oz #1 – Following on the heels of their successful adaptation of The Wonderful World of Oz, Marvel takes on the second book in the series with the same writer and artist team. New characters Tip and Pumpkinhead are whisked off to the land of Oz, to meet both friends and foes alike. A true all ages title, both kids and adults will enjoy this next journey into the land of Oz.
