All ages comics and manga for 9/23/09

Wow!  A lot of good stuff this week made for some tough choices for my picks!  Image Comics has another Silverline Books title with Timothy & the Transgalactic Towel, created by Runemaster Studios, who also created Lions, Tigers & Bears.  It sounds very cool.  CMX bids farewell to Palette of 12 Secret Colors, a wonderfully light-hearted manga series.  And, over in the novel department, Harper Collins has a new Neil Gaiman story for kids.  Odd and the Frost Giants is about a boy and his strange journey to save the Norse Gods and their home Asgard from the invading Frost Giants.

Treehouse of Horror #15 – It’s a tradition that is back for its 15th year.  The Simpson’s salute to Halloween is the Treehouse of Horror, and is found on TV and in comics.  Guest writers and artists come together to create eclectic and downright weird stories in the Simpsons Universe.  This issue features Lovecraftian-eco-horror, murder in crawl spaces, Kwik-E-Mart candy and an Invasion of the Body Snatchers scenario, monsters and bad karaoke at Moe’s bar, and a C.H.U.D.-inspired parody.  Kids and adults alike can indulge in this deluge of wacky-horror goodness!

Pet Avengers Classic TP – Coming on the heels of the popular all ages mini series, Marvel is releasing a collection of tales about the animals that make up the Pet Avengers and more.  Lockheed goes solo; the origin of Zabu; magic, superscience, apes and squirrels!  This looks like a great collection of Marvel’s animal heroes and can tied fans over until the Pet Avengers regular series starts next year!
