All ages comics and Manga list for 3/4/09
It’s a nice variety of titles this week. Antarctic Press has it’s own Obama comic, that reaches past the election and goes though to the Inaugural. Archie has another Sonic the Hedgehog Archive, and IDW brings us another set of adventures with the 4th Doctor. Manga makes a good showing too, with Del Rey brings out another Bakugan Battle Brawlers and introduces Ben 10 Alien Force, while Viz has another Let’s Find Pokemon for the really young ones, and a new game manga to add to the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh lines.

Betty & Veronica Digest #192 – Being that’s it Women’s History Month, what’s more appropriate than to spotlight some of the longest running women in comics, but Betty and Veronica! These "best of friends, worst of enemies" have been together with the rest of the Archie gang since 1942. This digest features stories about the two friends as well as other Archie Comics females such as Josie and the Pussycats and Sabrina. This issue also features Kumi, a new character introduced in the last issue. She is new to Riverdale, her family having just moved there from Japan. In this issue, Betty, Archie and Jughead are introduced to some Japanese customs when they visit Kumi’s home. Then, Veronica and her friends get to try out Mr. Lodge’s new soda "Fizzy Fresh!" These stories will mostly appeal to girls, but boys can find something interesting in them too.

BakeGyamon Vol 1 – This is another of the titles Viz announced at last year’s SDCC. It’s a game manga, similar to Pokemon. Sanshiro wants to leave his small island home and have an adventure. He gets the chance when a stranger arrives and invites him to play BakeGyamon, a game played in backwards universe where monsters are pitted against each other. The winner of the game with be granted a wish. Sanshiro must figure out how to fight with the monsters he’s been paired with, a bunch of little mud balls. This is a title that will definitely appeal more to younger boys, with the fighting and competition. Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh fans will also find things to enjoy in this title. It’s definitely worth checking out.
