Picks:
Sonic Universe #1 – This is a new series from Archie Comics that ties in with the main Sonic series. It is an expansion of the comics continuity, and will feature many of the side characters that have been seen in the series, and introduce some new ones from the video games! This debut issue features Shadow and Metal Sonic continuing their series-spanning fight, that takes them to a whole new dimension! Blaze the Cat, a character from the Sonic Rush video game makes her debut in the comic as well. My daughters, big Sonic fans, are excited about this new series, as many of their favorite characters are side characters. Shadow is my oldest daughter’s favorite. This is series is sure to be a big hit with fans of not just the video games, but of the comics as well.
Dr. Doom and the Masters of Evil #2 – Even bad guys need attention. Not everyone loves the hero, and this new mini series from Marvel gives the bad guys the spotlight. Dr. Doom has a plan for world domination, but it’s going to take some help from other villains. In this issue, Doom has taken the role of Ringmaster of the Circus of Crime against the Masters of Evil. An untouched Hittite pyramid has been found in the caves of New Mexico, and the race is on for not only riches, but the secret to eternal life itself! This series has a lot of humor, and while part of a mini series, the issues can be read as stand alone. This title sounds like a lot of fun for kids and adults alike.
